My Unexpected Adventure on April 3rd

This morning, I checked the weather forecast, and to my delight, it said there would be no rain for a while!  Both forecasts confirmed "partly cloudy with sunshine."  Perfect timing for watering my plants!

My 30 strawberry pots were looking a little thirsty, so I grabbed ten 2-liter bottles of water and carefully hydrated each one.  I could almost hear them sighing in relief!

After that, I hopped on my bicycle to take part in the Weather News "My Sakura" event, something I join every year.  This would be my 15th photo submission, meaning I’d finally earn the special handkerchief prize!  Excited, I pedaled toward the shrine where my registered cherry tree stood.

However, an unexpected obstacle appeared—a construction site!  I had to take a detour, but I reassured myself that this was just another spring adventure.  When I finally reached the shrine and approached my cherry tree… I was met with a surprise!

A group of about ten cheerful elderly people had spread a blue picnic sheet right under my tree, happily enjoying their lunch.  The cherry blossoms were stunning, but so were their delicious-looking bento boxes.  Clearly, there was no way I could take a proper photo of "my" tree. Accepting my fate, I took a picture of a neighboring cherry tree instead and reported it to Weather News with a cheerful note:  "This one was beautiful too!"

Afterward, I did my grocery shopping for about 30 minutes and then headed home. Just as I walked through my door, the sky turned dark and… downpour!  Wait, what!? The forecast didn’t mention this!

With so many unexpected twists, I was completely exhausted.  But, looking back, it was an amusing little adventure.  Next time, I will get that handkerchief for sure.
